Even though these lyrics at face value may seem simple, it's meaning however is multi-faceted. For me it evokes an emotion of poignancy. It's about the inevitability of death in our lives and suffering. On the other hand it's also about a great hope found in faith that I have in Jesus Christ. The choruses talk about my separation from the direction of the ways of the world, and how I am going on a different journey in my faith. This song was cathartic to write, and even though it doesn't explicitly preach the gospel, I believe it's deep within its bones. I am not a perfect man. I fail in many ways, but despite these things I believe that God gives grace enough for me to be carried on into the next life even if the worst of disasters strikes me. I hope you find that grace too. God bless.
